I'm worried, got the youcon gold potatoes and I'm worried they will be gummy when mashed.

here it is thanksgiving morning and I read a post that said the gold potatoes tend to get gummy when mashed. I have to take them to a dinner and now I don't know what to do should I go and see what open and get the russet potatoes. I need help
