Naw.

It's really simple.

Low fat plant based whole foods....low fat is key (10% of diet)

for T2D prevention/reversal.

As for oatmeal, make it savory.

Stuff it with spinach, onions, turmeric...whatever spice.

It's really a no-brainer.

@sidsmom   I have never heard of putting spinach or onions or any of those spices in oatmeal...    That's a new one on me.. So it must not be a 'no-brainer' as you called it...

@KatieB

I think every mom on Earth has used oats in a meatloaf dish.

Translation = savory oats.

Oats are a simple starch...like potatoes, rice, corn, quinoa....

Sweet or savory....explore the options. Expand the palette💛

Re: I forgot how much I dislike oatmeal.

While some people use oats in meatloaf instead of breadcrumbs I cannot envision ever putting onions or anything savory in oatmeal.

@sidsmom   Yes, I am very aware of putting oatmeal in a meatloaf mixture.  I thought you meant adding spinach to plain oatmeal and eating it that way, which I had never heard of...  I don't think eating meatloaf would help with lowering cholesterol at all.

@KatieB

You're right! Oatmeal in meatloaf would be anything but healthy!

In America, we've been conditioned by media to see oats as a

'sweet' dish & nothing more. Many cultures will use oats as a

porridge base w/ the addition of vegetables, eggs & meat.

I started using spinach on top of my sweet oats so they wouldn't

boil over in the microwave!  Adding spinach to sweet oatmeal

would be a good start...it literally has no taste but you get

all the vit/min benefits to start the day. And go from there!

Tons of recipes, if you need them, on Google.
