I am wanting to make crockpot bf stew this weekend.what do you suggest,using stew meat or a chuck roast? I've never made this before, so your suggestions would be appreciated.thanks

@Luvsmyfam I use chuck. I like the flavor of it better than stew meat. The fat in chuck makes a difference for me.

I get my stew beef from Costco. Already cut into pieces and I just put them in the crockpot. I don't want to be bothered cutting up a hot piece of meat.

well,my local hyvee store had Chuck rst on sale for 6.99 a pound.i bet stew meat is higher.thank you for your response

Stew meat, chuck roast, either one will work. Cut up the roast first if using that, removing excess fat. I once used a London broil for stew, cutting it up first, and it turned out good.
