When I saw this topic, I thought to myself that I already know how to do this. After reading the original post, I realize maybe I don't know as much as I think I do!

I have in the past made a double boiler (or buy one) and the bottom pan has water in it - few inches... Top pan that sits on top (cover on) will get heated by the boiling water in pan.... Everything will taste fresh again without the cooked again taste... I have my mom's pyrex double boiler and use it a lot....Not to be used with any type of dough - pizza, pie, etc...Will check it out if these pans are still sold... Might find it at a garage sale or flea market....
