was using a recipe card box but was getting annoyed pulling out the cards in each section to find a recipe. Bought a recipe book on amazon where i wrote down my best recipes but now that I saw the book the poster is using that actually holds the recipe cards, I think I'll get one of those and put my cards in the book. think that will be easier than digging thru the recipe box!

You can also use your cell phone camera !
Take a pic, email it to yourself, or store it on the cell phone !

just ordered two beautiful recipe card albums by Lang that will hold 4 x 6 recipe cards. This will be a good winter project for me -organizing all my recipes and I like the idea of flipping thru a book rather than digging thru my very full card box. Thanks for bringing up this topic- it got me going at something I've been meaning to do.

@AnikaBrodie wrote:I store my recipes in several 3 ring notebooks that are stored on a kitchen shelf. I label them Cookies, Desserts, Baking (filed alphabetically), Cooking (filed alphabetically), Miscellaneous, etc. I used to keep them in an Internet file but now when I need a recipe I can just pull it from the binder and return it when finished. It's more practical and works for me.
I also have a large cookbook collection and use them often. Not all my recipes are in a notebook.
I have mine in some old three-ring binders.
I first put those binders together about thirty years ago. I have just added to them over the years.

just finished sorting thru a half a drawer full of recipes I've printed out and never tried..i forgot what i had in there. I put them all in folders and once I get the new albums, I'm going to use one album for all the recipes i've tried and we like and the other one for the recipes i want to try. This way when I want to try something new i'll just flip thru the book and actually be able to find the recipe! tobi

I have many of my cookbooks bookmarked with stick it notes and I write on the bookmark what recipe it is, I have many stored in my pocket online and I have hundreds in one of those photo albums with the plastic covered pages. I use the ones in the album most often and that is why they are in there.

I have an old accordian style book/folder that is probably 30 years old. Just cleaned it out a few years ago. The recipes that are still in there have been scanned into my computer. I have a recipe folder on my computer and tablet that contain 300+ recipes I created e-recipe cards for in Photoshop (example below). I have a recipe folder in Windows Live Mail (email) and I have a lot of recipes stored in "Favs" on allrecipes.com. So yeah, they're all over the place
I would love to be more organized but need to choose my battles so I'm choosing to let this one go <lol> I find what I need sooner or later. My daughter uses an app called Chef Tap. She says it's the only app she's found invaluable enough to buy.

Recipe boxes. All my recipies are hard copy. All in file boxes and my favourite ones get re-written in a book titled Favourite Recipies. I don't like keeping recipies anywhere I may not be able to access them. Pen and paper don't crash.

I have recipe books. I used to collect them. I hardly ever opened them. If I want to make something I look at the box they came in, or I go online to a few places that have recipes. I am about to donate my books to the local girl scout store (charity).
I am not a good cook, not my thing.

I guess I'm old fashioned cause I still keep my recipies on 3x5 cards in a recipe box. I even have my MIL's metal recipe box with her coveted recipies that she would not give out when she was alive. I come from a long line of fantastic cooks of Eastern European descent and we use words like "the knack" to describe skills.LOL
