I buy yeast in a 1 lb. package. I have recipes that call for a .25 ounce package, so I need to know in teaspoons how this measures.
I did the logical thing & researched online....I found several different answers (didn't expect that!)

Btw, I've used SAF Instant yeast for years, with great results. I keep the bulk in the freezer, so I didn't buy any new for a long time. I started using a new batch a while ago, & it's awful! I wondered why every bread item I made was a dud (that's NEVER happened to me before). I used fresh organic flour & butter (same as always), & my bread & buns were all sub-par.
I read some recent KAF reviews about the SAF, & got my answer...people are complaining about their latest purchase. So today, I bought the Red Star brand instead & threw out the SAF. Hopefully I'll get a MUCH better performance, as well as a better flavor (even that had changed).

I think it would equal about 2 teaspoons.

I saw both 2 teaspoons, & 2-1/4....also 2 Tablespoons, lol.
I'm sure it's either 2 or 2-1/4, but I need to be exact.

I'm trying to figure out how a weight measure of 1lb or .25 dry ounces can be converted to a teaspoon measure that is used for volume. I'm thinking you would need a scale to measure .25 dry ounces out of your 1lb package and not teaspoons. Just my thoughts. 🤔🤔
Edited to add:
I just asked Alexa...she said ounces cannot be measured into teaspoons, teaspoons measure volume while ounces measure mass. She said .25 FLUID oz. is 1.5 teaspoons, but yeast is not a fluid, it is a dry measure. Really think you are going to need a food scale to measure weight of .25 dry ounce.

Hi @spot555 ... I started buying Baker's Corner active dry yeast from Aldi's.
I'm looking, it says 1 pkg active dry yeast (.25 ounce) = 1 pkg. measures about 2 1/4 teaspoons.

That makes total sense, Scorpio.
Tell Alexa she's replaceable & see what she says, lol. ![]()
