@Luvsmyfam. Here is a picture of the back of the envelope with instructions and what you need to add. I used a hickory flavored barbecue sauce instead of ketchup. When it was finished I thickened the sauce with a bit of cornstarch. I added lots of onions.

Salt and Pepper. Brush all over with a thin layer of mustard. Liberally sprinkle finely chopped rosemary and garlic. Use sliced onions as a rack trivet in baking dish or rimmed baking sheet. Set on rack of onions with the fat cap up if there is one.. Pour cup of white wine or apple cider vinegar or apple juice or mixture of any or all. 350 Oven 25 min per pound, basting with pan juices/ mixture occassionally. Cook until thermometer inserted in middle reads 145 degrees.

Thank all for the recipes -- spouse doesn't like bbq (spices don't agree with him). I'm just going to season it lightly and bake per directions. Thank you🙂

My kids tell me I am the last person in the whole world who still does gravy. But there is something wonderful about gravy from a roast. Just straight, plain gravy.
I'll see myself out.....

My family loves gravy too, but there has to be mashed potatoes. When I cook pork by the method I posted here, it will be shredded, so we are more likely to have potato salad, oven roasted potatoes, macaroni salad, slaw as the sides, plus the spicy Dr Pepper liquid isn't a good gravy base.

Pork shoulder roast is also called a pork butt and is popular for low and slow bbq cooking. It is different than a pork loin or tenderloin, which has far less fat. And therefore is better suited a different cooking process.
So with any pork the main point is cook for the type of pork it is and always always check temperature to see when it is done but not overcooked.

No, just NO. Tenderloin and brown rice all the way 😂
Only one grandkid has learned gravy. He had to show his dad last thanksgiving. Now that was a victory.

I cook this pork loin a few times a month. I season it with Kinders blend (salt, pepper, garlic), and follow the directions on the package. It does not take that long to cook in the oven (if you are using yours in the summer!). I serve it with roasted potatoes that I cook at the same time in a separate baking dish, and cooked sauerkraut. If there are leftovers, we have pork sandwiches the next day with or without BBQ sauce.
Very simple meal.
