Time: 6 hours 10 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

These Honey-Garlic Slow Cooker Chicken Thighs are so easy thanks to the slow cooker. Plus, the ingredients are likely already in your pantry!

Ingredients

• 4 chicken thighs

• 1/2 cup soy sauce

• 1/2 cup ketchup

1/3 cup honey

 • 3 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

Step 1

Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.

Step 2

In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, ketchup, honey, garlic, and basil. Pour mixture over the chicken thighs.

Step 3

Cook on low heat for 6 hours.

My mother used to make a similar recipe called Korean Chicken Thighs.  They are delicious.

@Tinkrbl44 - I have not made it yet, probably next weekend. I've been adding slow cooker recipes to my files. Love the ease and I have a large cooker, so I make a double or triple batch for leftovers. Reduces my time preparing meals and this makes me happy!

Now that I looked up the recipe, I realize that her Korean Chicken Thighs were roasted in the oven:

8 chicken thighs

1/2 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp honey

1 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp toasted sesame oil

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ginger

1/4 tsp pepper

Stir everything but chicken together in a flat container with cover.  Put chicken in container, cover, and marinate in refrigerator overnight.

Put chicken in 9"X13" baking dish skin side down.  Pour marinade over top of chicken.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.  Turn chicken skin side up and bake for 15 more minutes.

Thank you @deepwaterdotter - I bet this would work in a slow cooker too. The chicken won't have the same crispness as if it were baked in oven but that's okay with me. I'm going to try your Mom's recipe - thank you!
