Honey BBQ Wings

[ Edited ]

Found this recipe online last night so I have not tried it yet. They look really good. Husband & Wife hired by Instant Pot & Tatung (Air Fryer) as Recipe Developers. You can Google Amy & Jacky to find their site.

The wings are made in the pressure cooker first & finished in the air fryer or your oven.

There are step by step directions & pics on their site.

Author: Amy + Jacky | Pressure Cook Recipes

Cuisine: American

Serving: 2 - 3

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Pressure Cook the Chicken Wings: Pour 1 cup (250ml) of cold water into the pressure cooker. Place a steamer basket in the pressure cooker and add the wings and drumettes on top of the steamer basket. Close lid and pressure cook at High Pressure for 5 minutes + Full Natural Release. Open the lid carefully.
  2. Preheat Airfryer: While the pressure cooker is naturally releasing pressure, dial air fryer to 400°F and set the timer to 10 minutes.
  3. If you're using an oven:While the pressure cooker is naturally releasing pressure, preheat the oven to 450°F.
  4. Pat Dry the Chicken Wings: Remove wings and drumettes from the pressure cooker. Pat them really dry with paper towels.
  5. Apply Sauce and Place in the Airfryer:In a large mixing bowl, toss wings and drumettes with ½ cup (125ml) of BBQ sauce. Add the wings and drumettes into the airfryer basket. Airfry until sauce is glossy and caramelized, about 5–10 minutes. After 2 - 3 minutes, take out the airfryer basket and give it a toss to make sure the chicken wings brown evenly.
  6. If you're using an oven: Place the chicken wings and drumettes in a single layer on a wire rack in a baking tray. Bake until the sauce is glossy and caramelized, for about 8–15 minutes.

@spud188 - Thanks for sharing your substitution—I've had some of that orange sauce languishing in my cupboard for weeks waiting for me to use it, and I think I've found just the recipe for it now! Smiley Happy

Thanks for coming back to post what you thought about them. Still have not made them yet. Need to buy some wings so we can try them.

Head Country is in town today making baby back ribs. DH picked up 2 slabs on his way back home from his meeting this morning.

Made a whole chicken in the rotisserie yesterday so we can eat chicken & ribs the next several days.
