@ECBG I remember making candy that looked like those in your picture with my grandmother during the holidays. I remember she stirred in a small chunk of cream cheese to the peanut butter mixture. And she added a little bit of vegetable oil to the dipping chocolate. We used to dip them by setting them on a fork.

I make the peanut butter ball mixture, press it into a buttered 9x13 pan and cover with melted chocolate, then cut in small squares like fudge. Keep some in fridge, freeze the rest.

I make BUCKEYES every year...similar recipe but I roll the peanut butter mixture in to balls, freeze and then dip in the chocolate, 3/4 of the way around the rolled peanutbuter (to make them look like a buckeye) and let set up.

I love peanut butter cups. Looks like they would be easy to make. Thanks for sharing.
If you really like chocolate & peanut butter you need to try Rice Krispies chocolate peanut butter balls. Have made these at my sisters house during the Holiday's. I have never made them at home since I can't stop eating them?
Rice Krispies™ Peanut Butter Balls
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
54 mini-muffin paper cups
In large electric mixer bowl, beat peanut butter, margarine and sugar on medium speed until thoroughly combined. Add Rice Krispies cereal, mixing thoroughly.
Shape into balls. Place each ball in candy paper cup. Refrigerate.
Melt chocolate morsels and shortening in small saucepan, over low heat, stirring constantly.
Spoon 1 teaspoon melted chocolate over each peanut butter ball. Refrigerate until firm.
Store in refrigerator.

I wish I could figure out how to make the Buckeyes taste more like a Reese Peanut Butter Cup - not in texture but taste....possibly adding salt but no sure and I am not good at experimenting..

@Mom2Dogs I found this recipe in an old church cookbook in my collection:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
8 tbsp semi-soft butter (still a little cool)
1/8 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Use electric mixer to combine peanut butter, butter, and salt. Slowly add sugar and mix on Low speed. Refrigerate for 15 minutes before forming into balls.

@deepwaterdotter Thanks, maybe I will add a bit of salt to my recipe.
