Miss Buttercup, I copied many of your cookie recipes from the cookie exchange. Thank you for them and the great stories that you posted with them.

When I reformatted them for my files, apparently I made at least one error - with the Top Hats - because I cannot figure out what to do with the other halves, the gooey side, of the cookies that were put in the muffin pan. The recipe says: "Divide the remaining cheese mixture over all the other cookie halves and sprinkle with crumbs." Are these put on a cookie sheet? I just can't figure it out for myself. Thanks for any help. Smile

Miss Buttercup’s Top Hats

These are so good. The Oreo cookies soften overnight and become a very dark rich cake layer, really wonderful and so easy. They will impress on a cookie platter; anyone who loves Oreos and cheesecake must make these.

20 Oreo cookies
(2) 8-oz pkg cream cheese, not low or no fat
3/4 c sugar
2 T flour
3 eggs

Topping:
3/4 c real sour cream
3 T sugar

Line 16 muffin tins with liners and grease them or spray with Pam.

Separate cookies into two wafers. Don't worry about the filling, it will all be good. Put one cookie half in each liner. It’s neat how an Oreo fits exactly into a muffin tin. Put the others aside. You will use the rest later.

Combine the cream cheese, sugar, flour and eggs. Beat till blended.

Put one tablespoon of this mixture on top of the cookie half in the muffin tin.

Make crumbs out of the remaining 4 reserved whole cookies, and sprinkle a small bit over the batter in the muffin tin.

Divide the remaining cheese mixture over all the other cookie halves and sprinkle with crumbs.

Bake these at 350 deg F for 20 to 25 minutes.

Spread the sour cream topping on top of the cakes, return to the oven for about 3 minutes. Remove from the oven and place the remaining wafers - cookie halves - on top of each cheesecake. Store in the fridge after they are cooled.

The cookie will become soft and cake like. These are like an Oreo filled with cheesecake.
