My German grandmother gave me a recipe, many years ago, for Christmas "Rock" cookies. (She touted them as a real "German" cookie recipe-don't know if that is true or not) They have dates cut up in them and come out very hard, hence the name. I try to make these cookies for my father every year (he's 85) and now I can't find the recipe! It's relatively simple-a drop cookie with dates. I have looked everywhere online and can't find a similar recipe. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I tried making a basic cookie dough and putting dates in but it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated! TIA
