Hadn’t made cupcakes in ages . . .

but they turned out perfectly for DH’s Birthday today. He wanted chocolate buttermilk cupcakes so he could freeze half of the batch for when he wants a chocolate fix. Found a simple recipe on Pinterest and only had to tweek the buttercream frosting a tad to make it come out decadent and perfect!8A2A43CF-E748-497F-B515-24A9E15B3E73.jpeg

Those look yummy!!! Tell DH Happy Birthday!!!

Where did you get those containers? That's just what I need for things like cupcakes, cinnamon rolls etc. I hate putting foil over top of a pan that I don't have a lid for.

@Nightowlz - they look like Betty Crocker containers.  I got mine at the Dollar Tree but they do sell them in the supermarket too for a lot more money!

@CelticCrafter Thank you. I will have to look for them. I have a Dollar Tree about 5 mins from me.

@joannecha Great!  It's good to know that a fellow Sagittarian is also a chocoholic like me!  Tell your Sag Happy Birthday from another Sag, and enjoy those cupcakes!

Wow they look great and he was almost born on National Cupcake Day Dec. 15th what a great day!!  Alas, I had to buy mine that day at the local bakery but only to "police" myself to have just one.  Yours looks like I could do some real damage to them all by myself.Heart

They look wonderful! I've always loved making cupcakes, especially for my grandkids. Their fave (and mine) are yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting.

Thanks for sharing those mouth watering pictures!

@joannecha they look delicious. Love the candles too.

Re: Hadn’t made cupcakes in ages . . .

Can’t remember where the containers came from. Probably Walmart or our local Meijers. I’m going to frost the remainder, put them in the freezer to harden the frosting, and then wrap them individually in Saran Wrap to freeze. They were wicked rich. I have the whole container of chocolate buttercream frosting that I made in the refrigerator right now and it’s calling my name. Wonder what I’ve got in the pantry that would taste really dipped in chocolate frosting?
