A restaurant here serves BLTs with bacon, lettuce and fried green tomatoes!  You can also get them on a hamburger!  Somebody likes them!

@SharkE   topped with a drizzle of a good italian or blue cheese dressing!  HEAVEN!

You don't like yellow squash?  Sauteed yellow squash?  Good grief.  I LOVE it.  Also like it baked in layers with onion, cream and a little bit of white cheese of some sort and a sprinkle of bread crumbs in the layers.  Not a LOT of cheese and cream, just "some."

I was thinking 'bout you during SHARK WEEK!!!  LOL!!!

I LOVE them! Living in the South, if DH and I eat out and they are on the menu, we order and share. They are one of the few fried foods I will eat as a treat.

A long time ago, I used to make them with seasoned Italian bread crumbs-adding additional parmesan and serve them on slices of fresh mozzarella or barratta cheese with a drizzle of balsamic glaze.....heaven!

Awwwwwwwww  that's nice.

Aren't they fascinating ? People are so brave going down in those cages, etc. I don't have a death wish, though. LOL

Seems like I read where sharks are the only specie that eat their own young. Now, that's low ! LOL

@Zhills, I would say the only thing I can compare them to is fried green pickle chips. I like those, but not as much as fried green tomatoes.

Yesterday I was at Publix and they were selling green tomatoes at twice the price of heirloom and organic tomatoes! I took a pass on them-the ones they had didn't have much green at all!

My grandmother used to take all the green tomatoes left on the vines at the end of the summer and make what she called Bread & Butter pickles.  They were very similar in taste to B & G Bread & Butter chips.

I wish I had that recipe.

I have used them to make Green Tomato Relish or what some call Chow Chow.

Never had the Fried Dill Pickles.   I'll have to find some of those to try.  I think our BBQ has those.
