I have been following this show since it was first aired, and in fact, re-watched PBS' season 1 (a few shows) on Amazon Prime last night.
Has anyone made any of these recipes? I am intriqued by some of the techniques that I have never heard of, i.e. hot pastry dough. I want to make some of these recipes, but they look so darn hard/complicated. If you have made a recipe, please share with us what you made and how it turned out. You obviously get a medal for both courage and patience.

DH watched this with me one evening and they were making taramisu. They, of course, had to make the ladyfingers from scratch. DH was so impressed that when I make taramisu the ladyfingers look so much nicer than their's did. I hated to have to tell him I buy already made ones, but he said well, that is certainly the smarter thing to do. I didn't tell him that I don't make the cake base either - I buy a pound cake at Publix. I consider "making taramisu" that I assemble it all together and make it look pretty.

Compliments of "The Grea British Baking Show," I'm making these on Saturday.
Mini Pear Pies
Recipe courtesy of The Great British Baking Show
Make this mini pear pies recipe that appeared as the technical challenge in the Pies and Tarts episode of The Great British Baking Show.
Ingredients
Remark: Yes you can. It's same dough. I would cool my pears in the ice box just like the winner of that challenge did. That is what will make the dough stick to it. And chill the doug! Remember PUFF pastry will expand so leave a tiny space between each wrap. You can use an apple also, if you want to use a plum or peach don't poach and for the plum use an apple corer or a knife to cut out the seed or cut in half to remove it same as plum and just put the 2 halves back together. But put a dab of butter in the peach and some cinnamon and sugar.
