Hi Respect,
Snicks is right! Leave those grapes whole. I wash my grapes and dry them bone dry, then refrigerate them to get them cold. I make the salad the next day and when people bite into those cold grapes with that yummy dressing/topping, they explode in your mouth with juicy goodness! So refreshing on a hot summer's day.
Hi Snicks,
Nice to "meet" you!

Thank you for your reply! I thought so...and that does make a lot of sense that it would get watery! Thanks again!
Great tips mustang! I will make sure they are dry and cold.
I was just thinking...I wonder how those silly Cotton Candy Grapes we found last year would taste in this? Interesting!

I have no clue, Respect. I have failed to find the Cotton Candy Grapes so can't quite get the taste in my mind. Grapes are pretty sweet to me and the dressing on this salad is sweet. I don't know if I would use all cotton candy grapes-would they mix with either green or red grapes? A lot of the time the green grapes are a tad more tart to me and if the cotton candy grapes are real sweet, it might work to mix those two.

@LilBitMissty Thank you for posting this recipe. I made it last night and we had it for dessert, this evening. It was delicious! I think if I were to take this to a pot luck, I would make it in a flat casserole dish so everyone can get some of the terrific topping. This is a very good dish to have in my recipe file!

LilBitMissty - thanks so much for yet another great recipe!
I made your recipe (doubled) for a school staff potluck, and many were raving over it and asking for the recipe. One teacher commented/complaining-she's usually "that one" it was really sugary sweet, and I believe that's because of the 2 cups of packed brown sugar on top (I used a rectangle aluminum pan...so more would get the topping (thank you, rrpel, for that suggestion!).
Some were already using it to vary with other fruits, and I think it would be great with others, also! It's fun to make the original recipe and find out it is wonderful and also be able to vary it! Trying it makes this possible! ![]()
Just a note: Other recipes I found varied from 2 Tbsp of brown sugar and up....now I can see it would be TO TASTE? Also they use less vanilla, but I liked the vanilla taste!
Thanks again - I will be making this on Sunday for a BBQ we are going to! I got grapes at Costco, and they come in 2-lb tubs of each color, so I thought ahead haha! I'll let you know how THAT group likes it, if I remember! ![]()

We have found it much easier to eat if the grapes are cut in half. Never had a problem with it becoming watery.

My husband has heard of this and I haven't. (he's from OH and I'm from TX). So I'm making it for tomorrow, he will be very surprised!
