Anyone make their own granola and have a recipe to share? My favorite store bought is Simple Truth Coconut Cashew. Serving size has 5 grams of sugar, 3 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber It has crisp texture, yet is not too hard. Unfortunately, it is often out of stock.

Alton Brown's granola recipe on FN is by far the best!
Tweek as you like. A bit too seeet for me as is so I cut the sugars. You can also modify ingredients if you can't find them locally.
Haven't purchased bagged granola in years.

This is my SIL's favorite recipe:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar (she uses light, I prefer dark)
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup pecans, finely-ground to coarse powder in food processor
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp kosher salt
Melt butter in saucepan until butter solids are golden brown. Off heat, stir in brown sugar, honey, and vanilla.
In big bowl, stir rest of ingredients. Stir in liquid syrup until everything is evenly mixed.
Spread evenly on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 275 degrees for an hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Let cool completely.

@mizree Here is my granola recipe that I have been making
since the 1970's. I call it Grannie's Groovy Granola.
Preheat oven to 250 degrees
Mix 1/2 cup honey with 1/4 cup oil (I use canola oil)
Pour mixture over 3 3/4 cups rolled oats.
Add 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds & mix together or use whatever nuts you like.
Spread onto foiled lined baking sheet or large pan.
Bake 50-60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
After baking, I add 1/2 cup raisins. Add whatever you
prefer to add to granola.
Cool and store in air tight container. Folding long sides of foil in, to make a tube shape, makes it easy to pour into container. Enjoy

This is such good timing for this topic since I've been wondering if I'm wasting money buying store made granola. I've copied down the recipes that you all have been kind to post! A couple of them I already have the ingredients in my pantry and look forward to trying at least 1 of the recipes this weekend. I like the idea of being able to adapt for less sugar or if I have different type of nuts in pantry to substitute if needed.
