Re: Graham cracker pecan chews

Thanksgiving is not a ""day"" for worrying about healthy foods or others off the wall opinions.

Enjoy your holiday and I myself printed out this recipe yesterday to try. Thanks SarahPanda

Amen! There's a difference between having an opinion and coming in with full-force rainclouds. So far I've picked up some great recipes here. I made these pecan chews today and they are DELICIOUS. I used butter because that's what I had on hand. Looking back, I should have chopped the nuts finer, but I used a knife. Next time I'll run them through a food processor.

to Agent K: I loved everything about your comment ! So glad you fixed them, they are really great, aren't they?~?! And those ''rainclouds'' from the previous poster did 'smart' a bit but I just brushed it off, all the while hearing my mom say from heaven ''If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"...so all is well with me. The years have seasoned me too. Again, SO GLAD YOU ENJOYED THEM !

I've made this many times at Christmas and I use butter. It comes out great.

I went to the grocery store before work this morning but their pecans were so high I did not buy any. I am hitting Wal-Mart tomorrow after work so I thought I would buy them there. So glad to hear this worked well for you!! Yummy to think about and I bet better to eat!!

No....it sounds delicious. I'm going to try it this weekend!

Yes, well fat & sugar seems to be the American diet.

Seems insulting to the OP, who was kind enough to post this.

FYI..........this is a forum for opinions. This is mine!

Actually this forum is called "Recipe Swap" for posting recipes, which the O.P. was kind enough to do. I don't believe she asked for an opinion, some do ask cooking questions, but she was not.
People are entitled to have a treat now and then if they wish, oh sorry, I guess that was in my opinion {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}. Many of us appreciate others taking the time to post recipes and if it's one not fit to our liking, most of us pass it by without a negative comment to the O.P. . I guess another opinion of mine would be that most of us like to be treated with kindness, if you give it, it does come back to you.

Re: Graham cracker pecan chews

Thanks for sharing. I'm always interested in new easy treat recipes for the holidays. Regarding margarine/butter... nobody's forcing anyone to make this, and I find that margarine and butter are suitable for different baked recipes. They produce different textures, maybe like lard vs shortening.
