My Mom made Goulash at least once a week when I was a kid. It was a cheap and easy dish to make and we all liked it.

@HarpaMy husbands heritage is Polish and he always makes the most delicious goulash, he uses tomato soup instead of tomato sauce.  He got the recipe from his gramma.

@hayseed00

Do you have the recipe?

That must be really different than my grandmother's concoction!

My grandfather, too, was Polish, both having come from the old country. My DM and her DM always spoke Polish. But I've never heard of that particular goulash dish (the one I posted) anywhere else, so I wonder who first threw it together.

@Harpa  My husband said all he does is brown a pound of lean ground beef and saute' some sweet onion with it and then drains off the grease.  Then he boils a box of elbow macaroni and drains it and adds his beef mix to the macaroni, adds 2 to 3 cans of tomato soup, some parmesan cheese to your liking, little salt and pepper and then you have the most delicious goulash.  Simple but good.

@hayseed00  I've done it that way too but use a can of tomato soup and a can of vegetable soup.   My son and hubby love it this way and very easy.
