That is cool! I'd never thought of that, and it would be great for a sandwich. Thanks for posting.

Just last week I ran across a video recipe for "The Bacon Bomb" which uses the woven bacon idea -- the video is the most recent post here:

http://chitterlings.com/blog/

The first place I saw a bacon weave was at a potluck last Christmas where one of the ladies used it to wrap her large cheese ball. I thought she was so clever. After seeing snickster's post, I know how she must have cooked the bacon. I guess if you didn't cook it too crisp, you could wrap the cheese ball and by serving time the bacon would have softened a little so you could dig into the cheese without shattering the bacon. Made a really fancy presentation -- tasty too! I wonder who first thought of the idea?

Thanks, snickster, for sharing.

Yep. The bacon always wants to fall off a BLT, so this is a really cool way to help the sandwich stay together. It isn't appetizing to serve and try to eat food that wants to fall apart, so I think this is really neat.
