Bacon in Europe looks like this Image result for European Bacon

American bacon has much more fat. Here is a comparison shot of Canadian on the left, American on the top right and European on the bottom right. Image result for european bacon vs. american bacon We need better bacon!

Well Canadian bacon is basically ham. I think you need all that fat for flavor. Even when I buy the ends for rendering, the large pieces taste like ham.

Thanks for posting this and actually this is on youtube for quite a while and I love making bacon that way in the criss cross pattern, because it actually fits sliced bread beautifully.

This can also be made in the microwave between bounty towels which will cook the bacon crispy but will absorb all the bacon fat in the process........still a fast and delicious way to make bacon quickly.

I also make bacon in the oven but prefer to leave the slices whole, and place them on a wire rack so bacon fat drips off into the jelly roll pan I have underneath everything to catch all those delicious bacon drippings for flavoring soups, stews, eggs and a lot more other dishes.

Thanks for posting that you tried this method, I haven't tried it yet, because...no garden fresh tomatoes, can't stand the grocery store tomatoes, especially for a BLT. Glad it works and that you cooked the bacon in the microwave, I was thinking that would be how I cooked it also. Thanks again for posting how it turned out.

Thanks for posting this link! I tried the method last evening for BLT's and it worked great!

I baked mine in the oven on foil-lined cookie sheets and drained on paper towels.

Someone thinks this is a new and inventive idea?

It's a logical and common sense idea my fam has been doing since the 40's. Gee, can't believe everyone is so blown away with it. Also can't believe none of you have ever thought of it for yourselves ???

Ever laced a pie top that way ???
