This is an old recipe I ran across while sorting through piles of loose recipes I have made over the years, don't know if it has been posted before, but thought I would share it. The first part is the original recipe, then I added my notes as to what I actually did. If you make it, I hope you enjoy.

Fruit Dessert Pizza

Makes 12 servings

Crust:
1/2 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough

Prepare 12" pizza pan by spraying with cooking spray and dusting with flour. Dust Cookie dough lightly with flour. Roll and pat dough to fit pizza pan Bake at 350* for 8-10 minutes. Let cool.

Filling:
8 oz. package cream cheese, at room temperature
1 t. vanilla
1/3 cup powdered sugar

Beat cream cheese until smooth, add vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until well blended. Spread on top of cooled cookie crust.

Fruit topping:
10 pineapple rings, cut in half
3 kiwi, peeled and sliced
10-12 fresh strawberries
20 green grapes or blueberries
6-8 fresh or canned peach slices

Arrange fruit in pretty design over filling. Brush with glaze.

Glaze: Melt 1/4 cup apricot preserves or orange marmalade in microwave. Brush over fruit. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

My notes:
I baked the cookie dough on parchment paper as I thought it might still stick on a greased and floured pan. Parchment paper worked well.
I used only kiwi, peeled, cut in 1/2 and sliced; strawberries sliced lengthwise to show shape of the berries; sliced bananas dipped in lemon juice (to keep bananas from turning brown) and drained. For 2 pizzas I used 3 kiwi, 2 large bananas, about 15 strawberries. Then I sprinkled pecan pieces over the top and drizzled melted chocolate chips over the top. It takes only about 1/4 cup of chocolate chips melted to drizzle lightly over the two pizzas. I then refrigerated the pizzas for about 4 hours before serving. The bananas will turn slightly brown by the next day if any is leftover.

Thanks.....have not thought about this recipe in awhile. I have a different version but similar. I will have to remember to make it this summer.

Mine is similar to yours.

1 pkg sugar cookie dough spread on a well greased pizza pan, baked, and cooled.

Cover with 1 C sugar beaten into 1 large block softened cream cheese;

Fold into an 8 oz container of Cool Whip.

Garnish with 1/2 C each: finely chopped cantaloupe (terrific!) chopped strawberries, fresh pineapple tidbits, and blueberries.

I saw a recipe like this recipe in a recipe store on etsy called Freshdelicate.etsy.com

I think the vintage recipe used blackberries or cranberries instead . And combined the cream cheese with vanilla yogurt for a much creamier pizza.

Try it with mango... SO refreshing.

Since I can't eat strawberries I'm always thinking of unique ways to make things yummy.

Great share! Smiley Happy

Yum........I might try it using apricots or fresh cherries (pitted). Or maybe even canned or frozen cherries (check each one for pits). For whatever reason, I'm craving cherries today.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

This is wonderful! Many years ago we'd buy one at our local Safeway grocery store on special occasions. They were not only gorgeous to look at, but they were delicious too. Our kids just loved them. And then they changed the crust to something thicker and so hard you needed a sharp knife to cut each bite.....not your fork. We never bought them again.

I can't wait to try this and give to our kids perhaps on Easter, if I can wait that long!! Thank you so much for posting it. Am sure the crust will not be at all like the ones they're still selling at the store now!!
