This recipe has been in the family for a long time. These cookies are absoulutely addicting! You can make them without the walnuts, but IMO they make them even better! The instant coffee in the frosting gives them a delicious mocha taste.
1/2 Cup butter, softened
1 Cup light brown sugar (packed)
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1oz. squares of unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 Cups flour
1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
1/4 Teaspoon salt
3/4 Cup sour cream
1/2 Cup chopped walnuts
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in melted chocolate. Sift dry ingredients together in a small bowl. Add to chocolate mixture alternately with sour cream.
