I ran out of a seasoning I have used for many years last week and I went to the store that has carried it forever and they don't carry it anymore. I went to three other stores that used to have it and they didn't have it either so I had to order it from ebay (which I got for a reasonable price) and I picked up two so I don't have to order again for a while. This is it, it's called Cavenders Greek Seasoning . It is wonderful, I love it on so many things. Years ago I knew a woman who used to tell me about her fave lunch which she called a cheese bagel. She used to top her bagel with cheddar cheese and freshly sliced tomatoes and sprinkle the Cavenders over it and broil it. I tried that and I fell in love with the stuff. It's great on roasted potatoes, meats etc. I'm really suprised it isn't sold here anymore. I live in a big Greek neighborhood. I also started looking for another seasoning that I bought at Costco quite a while ago and that too wasn't sold there anymore. I just picked up one from Amazon. It too was so good on so many things, I first tried it in tuna salad they were giving out samples of ,and I hate tuna salad normally and won't go near it but I couldn't stop eating it with that seasoning in it. It's called Johnnys Garlic spread and seasoning. It also makes the most outrageous garlic bread I've ever had in my life. I love herbs and spices and I have tons of things from Penzey's too.

I'm curious to know if any of you have special things that you have used for years and love. I once started a thread asking what your "secret" ingredient is" and this is sort of similar but I'm really curious to know if there is something out there that you always have in your kitchen and would be lost without!
