My favorite Thanksgiving recipe is from my Grandmother, creamed cabbage, not really a recipe but I'll try

1 head cabbage, coarsely sliced  s & p to taste

6 slices bacon fried till crisp

saute cabbage in cooked bacon

make cream sauce, I use some chicken broth along with half n half

s & p, nutmeg to taste

add cabbage to cream sauce heat till warm & cabbage is tender.

Fruity Cranberry Sauce

1 regular bag of cranberries
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 container or bag of frozen raspberries in syrup (if you use fresh raspberries or regular frozen raspberries without syrup add an additional 1/2 cup of sugar)
Juice of one orange or tangerine (about ½ cup)
2 large granny smith apples, peeled and diced
Splash of grand marnier, if desired

Place water, sugar, and cranberries in a pot. Place on medium high heat and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Once the desired thickness is reached, allow to cool. Add remaining ingredients and combine until well mixed. Refrigerate for at least two hours. This easily doubles or triples. You can also add a little bit of the orange zest if you like.
This also tastes delicious over vanilla ice cream!

I have never made creamed cabbage, will try it.

I usually make(DH loves) just the sauteed cabbage, onions, garlic, bacon(opt) till tender than add wide buttered cooked(al dente only) egg noodles and gently stir.

this is a cold weather favorite here, cabbage and noodles.

You can also add smoked sausage to this when sauteing which is also very good for a whole meal.
