I've never tried that!  It sounds like a wonderful idea!  Thank you.😃❤️

@cheriere You're most welcome. I would Google Jordan Marsh blueberry muffin recipe and substitute these berries. It's my favorite go-to muffin recipe. I was unable to post a direct link. It's easy to Google it though.

I really appreciate your letting me know where to find the recipe.  I already ate most all of what was picked yesterday lol.  However, since it was 90 degrees here today, I'll bet a lot more will be ripe!  I'll be excited to check...once it cools down a little this evening lol.😃

Thank you again.❤️

I'm intrigued, I have never had a mulberry before but they look delicious. You'll have to post a picture of your dessert when you make it. You could do a mulberry shortcake with whipped cream too.

Oh I wish I’d seen this post a few weeks ago
I passed up getting a few bushes From a lady who also didn’t know anything about them except someone told her
they were invasive so I decided I wouldn’t get them

@Shihtzursqmom not sure what kind of bushes those are, but mulberries are trees.

I have several trees in my yard.  I didn't plant them.  In fact, when they're young, the leaves resemble sassafrass leaves with the mitten shape, so that's what I thought I had.  I wanted a sassafrass so I let them grow.  When they mature, they get a completely different leaf shape.  I have berries all over the ground, but I can't reach the ones hanging from the tree. Many of the ones on the ground have been stepped on.

I did finally get a volunteer sassafras, but it came up next to a scrub oak and it was too close to the tree to be able to remove it.  Then another came up a few feet away.  I'm not sure how well they transplant and I really don't know where I would put it, so it stays in that spot.

I've never seen any kind of worms in our berries.  Please don't let that stop you from picking up some.  They are quite delicious and taste much different than any other type berry.😃❤️

The "worms" are actually part of the blossoms that remain on the fruit during its growth. By stirring the berries they come loose from the fruit and float to the top.

Since the children see a mass of little brown "worms" in the water they leave the berries alone until they can be harvested and "cleaned" before use.
