EASY CROCKPOT BBQ CHICKEN (A Rotation Family Favorite)

CROCKPOT BBQ CHICKEN (will become a rotation favorite)

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast (I have used a combo of skinless boneless breast & thighs or just use the skinless/boneless thighs)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (I like the Stubbs brand. It also comes in reduced sugar and Sugar Free)
  • 1/4 cup bottled Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, (I have accidentally left it out and It’s still comes out great)
  • 1Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Sea salt to taste (just a pinch is needed)

  • Season chicken breast lightly ( a small pinch per breast) with some sea salt and place in your crockpot.
  • In a mixing bowl combine BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined.
  • Pour over chicken, cover and cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours
  • Once time is up, shred with 2 forks. After shredding, recover and let shredded chicken  cook in sauce for about 10-15 more minutes to soak up all that delish flavor.
  • Serve on buns, over rice, in wraps, on a salad, over nachos or eat a plateful as is!   If serving on buns or rolls, topping with a good coleslaw makes it extra special.

  • **I have not tried this recipe on low/longer time, but I would thinkZesty-Crockpot-BBQ-Chicken-Step-4-300x200.jpg 7-8 hours low would work.  Maybe 1 hour high and then 7-8 low.

We had this on Saturday. It was delicious. I cooked on high for 3 1/2 hours & it was falling apart tender. 😊

Re: EASY CROCKPOT BBQ CHICKEN (A Rotation Family Favorite)

I used to make something very similar years ago.   It was just the chicken (I like boneless skinless thighs) BBQ sauce and a little sliced onion in the crockpot.  Cook till it looks done, around 4 hours.

Low or High doesn't much matter on my CP, they both seem to produce similar results.  Thanks for reminding me of this recipe, will have to make it soon, it is delicious.

@Tinkrbl44  I like to make this for my family since it's a favorite, so I try to make it maybe once a month.  I call it rotation because I use it often in planning easy meals.

I have not made the chicken yet, but I have never tried Stubb's before. I got the Sweet and Sticky and it is great! Just baked some pork loin chops with it and they were great. Thank you for mentioning which sauce you use, it's a winner!
