@nosymrskravitzseems like the big difference between Hellmans and Dukes is that Dukes is thicker.  I'm glad I'm not missing much.

I'm a Duke's fan too, your salads don't get watery and I like that.

I agree 100% of what you wrote about Hellmann and Best Foods being made by the same company, but have to disagree with you on Duke's being sold only in the south.

It's available here in Pennsylvania and it's my favorite.  I like the taste much better than Hellmann's.

Hellmann's is better tasting than Kraft's any day of the week IMO.

Dukes is also here in Arizona now, that's why I inquired about it since I had never of it. Decided I will give it a try, gonna buy some tomorrow.

DH is from Maryland and always loved Dukes.  Here in the St. Louis area, we had Hellman's and Kraft.  I always preferred Hellman's to Kraft.  Then a few years ago, Duke's was sold in our area.  I tried it and never looked back.  So Duke's is sold in the Midwest, not just the South.  I have never had the privilege of trying Blue Plate but Duke's is far superior to Hellman's in our house.

For those watching their sugar & carbs, Regular Dukes has no sugar, but the Light Dukes  has a form of sugar, maybe high fructose corn syrup.  I have used only Dukes for about 20 years, finding it when we started eating low carb.

@bbqjudge

Nice to "see" you!  Thanks for sharing about the Dukes reg. vs. Duke's light.

Hope you and your DH are doing well and still judging bbq competitions!

mustang66lady:  We are doing well and still judging BBQ all over the country.  We just had our 10th Jakey In June contest and it was a very good time.  Good to hear from you, too.

I live on the West Coast and it is Best Foods all the way!  I have only tasted Duke's once and I seem to remember it seemed sweet.

Dukes or Blue Plate for sure.  I live in the South. It makes the best potato salad or chicken or tuna salad.  I have family that lives in Ohio and they are now hooked on Dukes too.  They buy it at WalMart.  I think you can find it at WalMart just about anywhwere now.
