Does anyone need new shoes or an army blanket?

[ Edited ]

...because that's what I turned a perfectly nice beef roast into yesterday.

It's not that I paid a lot of money for it that annoys me, but the fact that I ruined a good piece of beef. We don't eat much beef so this would have been a treat...plus the fact that the poor cow died for nothing.

@GoneButNotForgotten    Sorry about your major investment gone bad.  Put the meat in a food processor or Vitamix and shred it.  Mix with some bottled chili sauce and a little mayo.  Makes a delicious sandwich spread.

@GoneButNotForgotten , so sorry you had bad outcome, but I would turn it into a spread as Kachina suggests or make soup with it. Another to try would be Stroganoff.

Though I do have to say thanks for the reminder of army blankets, I've not thought of those for many, many years.... Thanks for the smile and memories!

My mother used to take leftover roast beef, grind it up in a metal grinder attached to the edge of the kitchen table, and mix it with cubed potatoes and onions.  We called it hash and absolutley loved it with butter on top

I am not a cook and I didn't know any better so I tried to cook a brisket as you would a roast.  I didn't know they were different,  Looked like a roast to me in the butcher case.  That was a disaster to attempt to eat.  Even the dog wouldnt eat it.

One of the reasons DH requests I stay out of the kitchen.  Suits me fine.
