I saw part of a Pioneer Woman show recently and she made a very odd slaw--at least odd to me. There is no mayo or oil in it.
I love both kinds of slaw and make them often--with or without oil or mayo or sometimes both, but to me this version is odd.
Does it sound good to you?
1/2 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
4 limes, juiced
2 tablespoons sriracha
1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more for seasoning
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning
2 fresh mangos
1 bunch scallions, green and white parts, thinly sliced
4 sprigs mint, leaves torn
Toss all ingredients except mangos and add just before serving.

It sounds great to me, something different and I love mangoes.

@Kachina624 LOL!!! I've had my mango today and we have 5 on the counter! We love them with everything, especially with avocados, grape tomatoes and red onion. OH is that good!
They are great on oatmeal (barely cooked or steele cut--not gummy) too!
I think this slaw needs some oil or a little oil and mayo in it. Seems like it would be too sharp to me.

@Sooner Sounds refreshing to me. I definitely would give it a go.
Harris Teeter has mangoes on special this week, too, so I think I will try it. Have all the other ingredients listed.

Mango Slaw to go with Caribbean burgers1/2 head red cabbage, thinly sliced

1 bunch scallions, green and white parts, thinly sliced

It sounds very good to me. I'm not a fan of over sweet , too much Mayo ladened slaw.

This slaw sounds great; I have had something similar that had peaches instead of mangoes. The limes and mangoes should keep it juicy enough it doesn’t need mayo or oil. Would be great with grilled chicken.

@QVCkitty1 I love very sweet and creamy, ice cold slaw made with finely shredded cabbage and not a lot of other "stuff" in it with very hot and spicy smoked ribs. That is heaven to me!
Otherwise, I'll use very little mayo or do an old and vinegar type slaw that keeps well and it pretty tart.
