@Just Bling As a Chicago woman for generations, Italian Beef (we just call them "Beefs"), is its own food group! Everything matters from the Beef cut to the "juice", the peppers, Jardinere, and bread. Depending on who's making it, they're all different. My Ma and I have our own "secret recipe" but it's nothing like one Beef shop to the next. Sometimes I order them "virgin" (no juice) or "Fully Dipped" (whole sandwich dipped in juice). If you look up The Sandwich King from the Food Network, he's from Chicago and has a few great recipes for Italian Beefs. Just throwing in my 2-beefs..HA!

I've never heard of Italian Beef either, but it sounds good! I've had a French Dip Sandwich which might be similar. Something I'll need to check out.

3 cups beef broth
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp garlic powder
1 bay leaf
2 .7-oz packets Italian salad dressing mix
3 1/2 lb chuck roast
Stir everything but beef in saucepan and bring to boil.
Place roast in Crockpot and pour hot mixture over meat.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Remove bay leaf and shred meat.
@deepwaterdotter When you say Italian salad dressing mix do you mean Good Seasons?
