Re: Do they still have chipped beef in a little glass jar?

Does anyone else remember the Kraft Neufchatel cheese spread (refrigerated) that came in little glass jars?  My favorite was one with finely chopped green o!ives. I think it's been discontinued but I loved it for years.  I used the glass for making biscuits as it was the perfect size.  I looked for it recently and seem to have misplaced my favorite biscuit cutter.

The Shop Rite has Kraft Old English Cheese, Pimento cheese and Blue Cheese in the little glass jars. I bought a bunch and they seem to be well stocked every time I look.

Re: Do they still have chipped beef in a little glass jar?

Growing up as a kid my mom would make creamed chipped beef on toast. I remember really liking it.  It was not salty like today's chipped beef nor did it come in a jar.  When I get a taste for it I buy Stouffers' Creamed Chipped Beef in the frozen food section.  It is not salty and pretty good.

I do remember this! We used to purchase it at a little tiny store in our neighborhood.  The glass containers were little juice glasses when you were done.  And didn't they have little designs on them?  I know we kept them and used them for years.

Re: Do they still have chipped beef in a little glass jar?

We had dried beef gravy a lot when I was growing up.  We just had it over plain white bread.  I ate it but didn't like it that well.  I also wondered if it was even still sold as it is something that is not on my radar when I'm at the grocery store.

@drizzellla    I checked the Wal-Mart online grocery list and saw the ones you listed but not my old favorite.  Maybe I could buy one of yours and at least get a new biscuit cutter.

I have only used it for dips. Didn't know about soaking it to remove the saltiness like @RedTop mentioned. That might be a wise thing for me to do.

Re: Do they still have chipped beef in a little glass jar?

My IGA advertises the Kraft pimento cheese spread in the jars, but none were on the shelf when I was there this morning.

I came out with everything on my short list, but at a price of $280!   The only thing that seemed like a good deal today was pork butt was $.99 a pound.
