Re: Did anyone get CHRIS PRYME'S meatloaf recipe?

Blessings to you, Beth for posting this recipe. I've been searching QVC's website every week since Chris gave it on-air, hoping it would eventually be posted.

Re: Did anyone get CHRIS PRYME'S meatloaf recipe?

here is a very similar recipe.....

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup shredded carrot
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream

Combine all ingredients; press into a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for about 1 1/2 hours. Let stand for 10 minutes. Drain off fat and transfer to serving platter. Meatloaf Recipe serves 8.

@sunshine45

Thank you for posting this recipe.  I have added it to my recipe file.  It sounds like it is very moist.

[ Edited ]

The topping for the meatloaf was a can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 4oz can of sliced mushrooms drained and 1 cup of milk. Mix ingredients together and pour over meatloaf before baking.

Re: Did anyone get CHRIS PRYME'S meatloaf recipe?

One sleeve of saltine crackers seems like a lot to me.  Of course it is 1 1/2 lbs. of hamburger and a lot of sour cream.

Re: Did anyone get CHRIS PRYME'S meatloaf recipe?

Loaf:

1.5-2 lbs ground beef (preferably 80/20 fat ratio)

16 oz sour cream

1 sleeve of saltine crackers crushed

2 med. carrots grated (about one cup)

Sauce:

1 cup whole milk

1 can or jar of sliced mushrooms

1can cream of mushroom soup

Mix together first 4 with hands, or kitchenaid mixer with wide beater-don't overwork it. Shape into a loaf in an oblong pyrex pan with space on all sides. Pour sauce over it and bake. First I tried from my phone, then I got on the full website from my laptop to see temp. and time, but not where David said it would be. Threw it in the oven at 350 degrees, for I suppose 45-60 min.? Odd there was no seasonings at all except the salt from the saltines, so I added a bit of salt and pepper. We'll see.

To the soup they added a can of sliced mushroom drained and a cup of milk before topping the meatloaf.

Thanks!!!  I tried a little Heinz 57 mixed with a little ketchup, and that was good.  Again, thanks!
