@Luvsmyfam Since the kids were grown, I've made our meals on Sunday, so I don't have to make anything when I get home from work. That's over 20 years. I just can't seem to break the habit. I make two complete entrees and a salad with chicken every week. We can choose what we want for lunch and dinner. I can always tell what DH really likes, because it goes first. I also make steel cut oats in a rice cooker once a week. We eat it with blueberries and yogurt.

It depends on what the leftovers are. If it's homemade soup or chili, we both eat them for several days. I'm fine with other leftovers for one day, but after that I'm done with them. Thankfully hubby has no problem eating them more than twice. Lately, I've started making smaller batches of casseroles so I don't end up with so much. It's just the two of us, so cutting down in the quantity makes sense for us. Same way with cakes or desserts - I only make it if it can be done in an 8x8 or 9x9 pan.

What about the frozen pasta in Marie Callendars, Stouffers, and other entrees in the freezer section?
I freeze spaghetti, lasagna, and goulash quite frequently, but not for more than a month.

I usually just cook what I plan to eat at that meal. If I have leftovers, they are planned; veggie soup, beef stew and Pasta or potato salads.

Absolutely, love them, less cooking... Try to never waste food unless its tastes really bad or it's been too long-
After a Few days, I freeze it.

We love leftovers. Some entrees are even better on the second or third day. Most of the casseroles I make have 4-6 servings. Since there's just the two of us, leftovers are a given. Fine by me. 😋
@Luvsmyfam I haven't read all the responses but why can't you freeze the leftover goulash? Google says differently.

I learn something herre all the time. People here share insights and information and a lot of knowledge can be picked up here and there.
