I love waking up early Sunday morning and making muffins. This morning, blueberry. To get a wonderfully crunchy flavorful top I mixed lots of fresh-grated nutmeg with Demerara sugar... an amber, large crystal sugar (can be found in any supermarket). Before baking I generously sprinkle it on top. I usually make a batch of nutmeg/demerara and store it in a spice jar.

THis can work with any sweet muffin or quick bread.
