@shopqvcless  you can also buy chocolate spoons for the kids and it's yummy to stir and mix the hot chocolate, I always fix hit chocolate throughout the winter. I also buy the chocolate marshmallow snowman candy and that is also yummy to add.  I have kids in my neighborhood and I love to fix a hot chocolate bar in the winter especially if it snows. We have a nice little hill on our property for the kids to go sledding.  Merry Christmas!

Re: Crock Pot hot chocolate

[ Edited ]

I saved this one but have not tried it yet It's made in the Crockpot. Sounds like it would be good. I have seen recipes using 1 1/2 tsp to 1 tbs of vanilla so guess you could start out with less & add to taste.

You could add different flavored chips, peppermint, marshmallows, whipped topping to the top etc.

Hot Chocolate
2 cups milk chocolate chips

14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

1 tbs vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

6 cups milk

Place all ingredients in Crockpot.

Set the Crockpot to a low setting.

Using a whisk, mix all ingredients together until well combined. Stir every 30 minutes to ensure the chocolate chips get mixed in thoroughly.

Cook on low for 2 hours.

Thanks everyone!!!!   I have a couple different recipes so not sure which one I'm going with.  The one is a powdered mix.  The other one you use the sweetened condensed milk but the reviews said only use half because it makes it really sweet so not sure.  If I have time I need to make half a batch for me to try.

@happilyretiredgirl , where do you buy the chocolate spoons.....i was going to look for something to stir.  Do you just drop the little marshmallow men in the hot choc?

What recipe do you use or do you do the packets?  I think a few adults will drink it too - with and without an adult boost in it!!!!

What a fun thing to do with the kids in the neighborhood!!!!

Merry Christmas to you!

I'm going to try it Christmas Eve....hope it turns out.  I will have some little kids so thought it may be fun to have a hot chocolate bar.  I'm going to have marshmallows, choc syrup, peppermint sprinkles, whipped topping.....not sure if anything else.

If anyone has done this before and has ideas, I would love to read them!!

I've never heard of preparing hot chocolate in a crockpot, but it sounds like a great idea for a crowd, and easy to serve.

@shopqvcless I found the chocolate spoons at my local Walmart where they put all the Christmas candy. I have also got them from the Dollar Tree and they were fresh and good. I really don't have a receipe for my hot chocolate, I usually just fix it on the stove top by warming milk and I add chocolate syrup and bring to a slow slimmer and poor in cups and let the kids add the toppings. I usually just drop the little Marshmallow snowman in the cup, stir with my chocolate spoon and it is delicious.
