Crock Pot....Golden Pork with Cinnamon-Sugar Apples

Golden Pork with Cinnamon-Sugar Apples

1 pork loin roast (about 3 lbs.)

1 can Golden Mushroom Soup, undiluted

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1/4 cup granulated sugar

3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

2 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced

Place pork roast in crock pot.  Combine soup, water, brown sugar and soy sauce; mix well.  Pour over the pork.

Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours.

About 1 hour before pork is done, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in food storage bag or bowl.  Add the sliced apples and shake to coat well.  Place apples on top of pork.  Cover and continue cooking for 1 hour longer.

Serve with noodles or mashed potatoes.  4-6 servings.

WOW! Now that sounds great. I made a pork roast last week with gravy, and though it was good, it needed a wow factor. Thank you for that great recipe. I'm definitely going to try that!

@walker   Thanks for this.  I have yet to use my crock pot which I've had for over a year!!  I like this recipe because I actually have all the ingredients!

Oh, YUMMMMM!!

I love pork and apples together and I have some golden mushroom soup (by accident) and I had no idea what to do with it!

I've found that golden mushroom soup gives a better flavor to any recipe that calls for cream of mushroom soup. One thing I love it for is green bean casserole--my SIL hated it, until she tasted mine with the golden mushroom!

Just a side note...the color of the golden is more appetizing, too (at least to me).

Thank you!

I love mushroom anything, but I wasn't sure what dishes it would blend in with, now I have some ideas!

@KingstonsMom You are very welcome! My lovely, late MIL introduced me to cooking with golden mushroom soup, and I'm forever grateful to her.
