Crispy Buttermilk Chicken #2

Here is another good buttermilk chicken recipe!

1 3/4 cups buttermilk

1 large egg

3/4 tsp onion powder, divided

3/4 tsp ground red pepper, divided

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp celery salt

2 Tbsp canola oil

Place chicken in zip-lock plastic bag. Combine buttermilk, egg, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp red pepper and add to bag. Marinate in frig for 4 hours.

Preheat oven to 425.

Remove chicken from bag and discard marinate.

Sprinkle kosher salt over chicken.

Combine the flour, remaining onion and red pepper, black pepper and celery salt in a shallow dish. Dredge chicken in flour mixture.

Place chicken on a wire rack.

Heat a large OVEN PROOF skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil. Saute chicken for about 4 minutes on one side.

Turn chicken over and place in 425 degree oven for 10-12 minutes to finish cooking.
