Amazon will deliver 6 creme brulee type cups tomorrow.  I have never attempted to make creme brulee and while I am not afraid to try and fail, I thought I'd ask if there is anyone here who is a pro at making Creme Brulee.  Someone who has a favorite recipe and is willing to share it and point out what goes wrong when something goes wrong.  Do I absolutely need a kitchen torch or will the broiler do the trick with the sugar topping?   Any suggestions are welcome.

I have never made creme brulee or burnt cream--but it is a custard type that isn't hard but not without its issues. Yes the broiler would work just fine. Have to say--I love the stuff-- altho has been a long time since I've had one.
