Does anyone know if Stella D'oro still makes the Anginetti cookies that are used to make cream puffs?

No, Unfortunally, they don't make them anymore.
i was so upset that I contacted the company....they were bought out by another company.
I was told the machinery to make them broke down and could not be fixed.
They decided not to replace the machine and just discontinued the cookies.
It has been quite a few years since they are gone and I still pine away for them.

@El from NJ I have no idea. But I remember my mother used to make cream puffs from scratch.

I know the point is to buy them, but here's a recipe I've used to make something very very similar. Relatively easy and works for the cream puffs.

I have a VERY EASY cream puff recipe from my MIL. Never would I think I'd be able to make cream puffs, but now I can. Let me know if you want the recipe.

I have an old, old original recipe from my Italian, great Aunt. I used to make them and i also froze some of the shells for another time. Haven't made them for a long time tho.

Pepperidge Farm makes frozen pastry shells that are 6 in a package. They cost about $4.50 per box.

@El from NJ @Carmie I was sad when Stella D'Oro discontinued making Anginetti cookies. The company closed for a while and re-opened, but never brought back the Anginetti cookies. The cream puff recipe was on the cookie package.
I loved making the little cream puffs filled with whipped cream and crushed pineapple. For two of my daughters' bridal showers, I made little cream puff swans with them.
I wish that they would re- create the machinery to make those cookies.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
4 eggs
In a saucepan, combine butter and water, bring to a vigorous boil.
Reduce heat to low, add flour and salt which haven been sifted together. Stir vigorously until mixture leaves sides of pan and forms a stiff ball.
Remove from heat.
Add eggs one at a time, beating hard after each addition. Shape like a cream puff in pan about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes then 325 for 20 minutes. Takes about 35 minutes.
Cut in half when they are cool and add vanilla pudding.
I use Silpats instead of greasing a cookie sheet.
For the pudding I use less milk (I think 2 cups instead of 3 cups)/I follow the instructions for pie filling.
Watch the oven. When I make these, the cream puffs cook faster than the directions say.
