do you think this would be too much for a coronation cake - 22k-24k gold leaf on the cake?

is the gold leaf edible, or just for looks?
05-04-2023 03:37 PM
Yes, it is edible gold leaf

I guess you might as well eat it when you have as much gold as the Royal Family. Maybe it will help Charles' complexion.

I don't get the design of that at all.

I don't think it's at all attractive. Rather ugly in my opinion.

@lil sophie I have to agree with @sabatini and @Love my grandkids . That cake looks like a wreck! Why try to improve it with gold leaf?

It just looks like spray painted tin foil to me. Lol

@PA Mom-mom, the gold leaf is already on the cake, but I don't understand its design.
To me, the sides seems a bit mardi gras, while the top looks as if something was removed from it & torn in the process.
I'm sorry, @lil sophie.

@sabatini You are right. Looking at it again, it's the gold leaf that is the problem. The cake was originally posted on taste.com au and delicious.com au
