I put mine in a lock n lock with a few damp paper towels in between and shake it to clean them off.

I only buy whole mushrooms.  Cut mushrooms do not take to being washed in water too well.

I put the mushrooms in my salad spinner basket and take it to the sink and rinse them off with my hand held sprayer as well as I can.  Then I replace the basket into the spinner and spin away.  Most of the mushrooms are pretty dry after that. I place them on a paper towel and blot.  I use them right away.

We love mushrooms and I use them a lot.  Yummm.

@sabatini--I saw that show too! and have since seen a few others that also say the sme thing.
