My husband remembers having this cookie when he was young. It is a rolled cookie with cherries inside. Does anyone have a recipe that resembles this ? Thanks.

Maybe a rolled sugar cookie with some chopped candied cherries?

Were they rolled in corn flakes with a piece of Maraschino cherry on top. If so they were my mom's favorite. We use to make them for Christmas. I have the recipe.

@sweetee2.   Thank you.  I have not made these since I did it with my mother.   They are so good.  I copied it down and will have to make.

Thanks so much for this recipe.

Cherry Winks - wonderful cookies.  We used to make these every year.  My Mom and Dad loved those cookies, they loved marachino cherries.

I really miss homemade goodies.  Just don't want all of that stuff laying around the house.

My sister and I used to make these when we were kids - I loved them. However, I remember them containing chopped dates (I remember because I was in charge of chopping the dates - now we can get already chopped ones). I think the recipe came from a Pillsbury bake off.

My mom's recipe for Cherry Wink Cookies was the same but had 1 C chopped nuts & 1 C pitted chopped dates.  My mom's instructions said to use 1 T dough rolled in cornflakes and top w/cherries (about 18 quartered) and just use the 1/4 cherry on top.
