Cookie Dough Truffles
These truffles could not be easier to make. Plus, they are really good. This recipes makes 4 to 5 dozen, so maybe gift a dozen or two *smile*
1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup mini chocolate chips
20 ounces chocolate of your choice, melted
Cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
Add vanilla, salt, and flour and mix until well combined.
Mix in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Form dough into small balls.
Dip in melted chocolate.
Allow chocolate to set up before serving. Refrigerating will speed up the setting process if desired.
(makes 4 to 5 dozen)

Oh, yum! Easy and delicious.
What kind of chocolate did you use for the dip? The picture looks like dark chocolate to me.

Sorry for the long delay..this is the recipe I use and they fly out the door for the last 2 years I have took them to family gatherings!
Oreo Truffles
1 lb. Oreos, crushed
8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
1 lb. white dipping chocolate, also known as almond bark
Crush the oreos into the bowl of your electric mixer; add cream cheese that has been cubed. Run mixer for a little bit; it will all come together and be rather mushy, tacky. Chill for one hour. Then take spoonfuls (or a small cookie scoop) and make small balls, then dip into the melted almond bark (almond bark can be melted in the microwave). Place on waxed paper and let set up. There are good cold or room temperature. They also freeze well.
***Use Food processor to crush Oreos & then add cream cheese until it forms a ball.
**I chill again after I make into balls for at least an hour before dipping into chocolate
I chill the "ball" before I make the smaller balls and then I chill again before I dip them in chocolate. For me, I have found using 2 forks works for me but I have used toothpicks before. I put wax paper on a large cookie/jelly roll pan onr put into fridge to chill. Hope all this makes sense!
Oh, also wanted to say that since Oreos have "sized" down their packages (16oz to 14.5, I think it was) I only used 6 oz. of cream cheese. Seemed like using the whole block made the ball too soft even after I had chilled it but I guess it's your choice.
