Colored Macaroni Salad

This recipe was given to me by my aunt.Everyone loves it.

1 lb colored pasta

1 green pepper chopped

4 carrots ( grated )

1 onion ( chopped )

Dressing

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1/2/c sugar

1 cup vinegar ( brown or white )

2 cups Mayo. I used Hellman's myself

1/4 t. celery seed

salt & pepper to taste

Cook pasta then cool some.

Mix the dressing together and pour over the pasta

Set overnight.The flavors are so much better when it sets overnight.

pupcakes, it used to be very popular in the past but you can't find it so easily anymore. Grocery stores carried it and still do for summer salads.

Sweetened condensed milk in a macaroni salad, must be a regional thing, I have never used anything but mayo in mine

You can buy in the pasta area.I think it is the curly kind,but I may be wrong.Hope you find it.

I don't know how regional this recipe is, but anytime someone brings this one to a gathering, I make a pig of myself. Around here, we call it Mennonite Pasta salad. It is so good.

This is the one I use for color macaroni salad.It is a hit every time I bring it to a doings. In fact I will taking it to my 50th class reunion this coming Saturday.
