I made this chili last night and it was tasty and easy to make. 3 Tbsp cili powder (I used mild) 2 Tbsp ground cumin 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 1/4 cup olive oil 3 cups chopped onion (approx. 2 onions) 2 cups chopped green bell pepper (2 peppers) 6 cloves garlic, minced 2 pounds ground turkey 1Tbsp oregano 2 Tbsp tomato paste 1 Tbsp sea salt 1 Tbsp cocoa powder or 1 ounce chopped dark chocolate 1 12 ounce bottle of Guinness or lager (I used amber ale as I did not have lager) 1 14 .5 ounce can chopped tomatoes 2 15 .5 ounce cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed Mix the chili powder, cumin and red pepper flakes in a medium high heat pot, for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant. Add the olive oil, and stir. Add the onion, green peppers and garlic. Stir until softened, approx. 5 minutes. Add the turkey and sauté until all pink is gone, approx. 5 minutes. Add the oregano, cocoa, salt, tomato paste and stir for approximately 1 minute. Add the beer and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and beans, stir, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 30 minutes.
