After a quick glance, I realize I have never made a cake from scratch.  I haven't made one from a box since like 1972.

A cake from scratch is not difficult but can be overrated.

The box mixes have improved & it's hard to tell the difference, unless you are a gourmet baker.

Maybe for Thanksgiving!  I don't even know what DH would like, though now that I think about it he doesn't like chocolate.  Hm.  Have to think about this!

I could decorate it like "Best Husband Ever", or something.  He might be tickled.

Bittersweet chocolate souffle?  Souffle?  Way beyond me.  I didn't go any further.

I was kinda hoping for nachos to be on the list. 😉

Gee @house_cat  I'm kinda feeling pretty good about myself after reading that list. I have made from scratch well over half of the recipes featured, but I am a bit confused about something. For instance, I have made beef stew, meatballs in marinara sauce and hummus. However, I've never made Craig Claiborne's beef stew, Rao's meatballs in marinara sauce, or Jerusalem hummus.

I need to write them and ask if that's okay, LOL!

Plenty on that list I'd like to master though especially Pizzza Margeurita or anything involving making pizza dough, bread, rolls, biscuits, etc. from scratch. Heck, I can't even make a decent pie crust. 😞

If you want to make one from scratch try the Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate cake. It's so easy to make & it's so yummy. It must be the best chocolate cake I have ever ate. YUM!!! The recipe is on Hershey's site.

Just saw you posted your DH does not like chocolate. Tell me it's not so. LOL!!! I can't live without it.
