hello everyone! Smile I had to start a new thread because we could no longer post on the other one. I read on viewpoints that they are doing it to all of the larger threads. That's okay...let's have a cookie or two instead of a brownie! lol

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
3 Tablespoons vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoons wheatgerm (optional)
2 Tablespoons flax seed meal (optional)
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 bag (2 cups) milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped, toasted walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix sugars until well combined. Melt butter in microwave and add to sugar mixture. Stir until well combined. Add vanilla and eggs and stir until well mixed. In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking soda, salt, wheatgerm and flax seed. Add dry ingredients to the wet and stir until just combined. The dough will be stiff. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Stir until just combined to avoid tough cookies. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Drop dough onto sheets with small ice cream scoop or large spoon. Flatten the dough slightly with your hand and bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges and tops of cookies are just turning brown. Cool on wire racks.
