@sunshine45 ...Did  you see @NicksmomESQ's post where she uses 1/4 cup of red wine?...I'm going to try that next time...Since I usually use 1/2 cup of the broth, I will use 1/4 of the broth and 1/4 of the wine and that should work out fine.

i did see that! i am sure it adds lots of great flavor

when i am done frying the onions, garlic, and beef, i always deglaze the pan with beer......1/2 to a full can, depending on how much i am making. beer works well also along with the broth!
