This appeared in today's Publix grocery ad and looks good and easy to make.  The lemon juice and pepper flakes give it special appeal, in my opinion.

CHEESY BROCCOLI SAUTE

head fresh broccoli (about 1 lb)
4 oz aged cheddar cheese, crumbled
1 lemon, for juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Cut root end from broccoli (about 3 inches) and discard. Peel remaining stem, and cut broccoli into 3-inch-long spears. Crumble (or cut) cheese into bite-size pieces. Squeeze lemon for juice (1 tablespoon)

Preheat large, heavy sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place oil in pan; add broccoli, salt, and pepper. Cook 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until broccoli begins to brown.

Sprinkle cheese over broccoli; cook 1–2 minutes (do not stir) or until cheese has browned and slightly melted and broccoli is crisp-tender. Remove from heat; drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with pepper flakes (if using); serve.

@novamc1   Excellent recipe and super easy.  I like broccoli, but Significant Other loves it.  I will pass it along to him.  He will make a meal all to himself with this.

Best,

I can relate! I have one that loves broccoli (but if he's left alone in the kitchen, he will put Kraft American slices on it.... I'm none to impressed with his "culinary skills", lol).

This sound delicious, thank you for sharing @novamc1 .  I do like a little lemon on broccoli, and the red pepper sounds like a nice zest!

Yum!  I will definitely try this recipe out.  Agree that the lemon and red pepper flakes sound like a great addition.
